The flowers press best and retain brighter colour when pressed as fresh as possible, so I recommend (if you or a member of the party live in or near Brighton) dropping them directly to me. Alternatively, you can post them to me! For this, I would recommend express shipping (please inform me of the tracking number if you do decide to post) and to package them carefully to keep them safe.
To do this you will need:
Your flowers
Cardboard box big enough to fit your packaged flowers without crushing them
Floristry bouquet box (you can request this from your floristry provider)- to keep the flowers upright in the cardboard box
Scissors
Hair band/ elastic band/ twine or string to tie
A bit of water
Sandwich bag
Paper towels/ kitchen towel Padding- such as bubble wrap or newspaper. This will all be reused and recycled by me.
Masking tape
Paper and plastic wallet
To package your flowers:
Slightly cut the ends of your stems of your flowers to freshen those ends up and make then receptive to water. Use your cardboard box to help you ensure that your flowers will fit in there, and cut the stems a bit more if the flowers stick out the top of the box.
Cover the ends of the stems in wet paper towels/ kitchen towel. This is to make sure they are still getting lots of water on their way over to me so they are still as fresh as possible when they arrive for pressing.
Cover the ends of the stems, now wrapped in wet paper towel, into a sandwich bag and secure with an elastic band/ hair band/ twine.
Put the flowers in your floristry bouquet box and pad with newspaper/ bubble wrap.
Put this into your main packing cardboard box, and again, pad with newspaper/ bubble wrap/ packing peanuts for extra padding and protection. This is to keep the flowers safe during postage.
Write your name and reference number on some paper, put in a plastic wallet and put this in the box so I know who the order belongs to! Your order reference number can be found on your receipt following successful payment of your deposit.
Seal the box up securely with masking tape
Pop the address on (I will give this to you during communication) and on the top of the box, write ‘This side up.’
Post first class to me, preferably with fragile shipping
Send me the tracking number via email
If you are posting your flowers to me, it is really important you include a note (perhaps in a plastic wallet to avoid it getting wet) with your name and your order reference number so I know the flowers are yours! Please find a link to an instructional video here.
If you are getting extra materials framed, such as invitations or vows, please safely include these in the package.
If you are sending multiple floral arrangements, please ensure that if they are going in one box there is enough room, or send in multiple boxes. For button holes, follow the instructions but on a much smaller scale!
